This year, Frank and I had all 6 of our kids for Easter.  I loved it!  I love having all our kids together, and they love being with one another as well.  The kids all woke up to Easter baskets filled with candy and even plastic eggs filled with money.  They were VERY excited about the money (and the candy too, but especially the money)!

My future mother-in-law and I filled a LOT of plastic eggs with candy and even more money.  Each child had an egg with $5.00.  To make it fair, we put each child’s name on an egg.  This made it fair, especially with the younger ones who weren’t quite as fast as the older ones.

As I mentioned, my future mother-in-law and I filled the eggs while Frank and my future father-in-law worked hard at hiding them outside for the kids to find.  Note – you might want to make sure you have more people hiding the eggs if there is chocolate involved.  Unfortunately, some of the chocolate involved.  However, it was a good thing I had more candy left over.

The kids were so excited to get started and waited patiently while we took pictures.  Can you tell they’re a blogger’s kids?  Ha ha – our kids rock!  After the pictures, it was time to count off!

I can’t believe how long it took to fill and hide the eggs, but how quickly the kids found them.  They even helped each other (somewhat) find some of the harder to reach eggs.  Some of the kids even shared their eggs with each other.  I was so proud of them!  But all the kids loved opening up their eggs and finding chocolate, sour candy and money.  It was definitely a successful Easter Egg Hunt.

Some of the eggs were so well hidden, even I had a hard time spotting them.  Frank knew where they were because he hid a lot of them – ha ha.  We had to help guide some of the kids so they could find the eggs.  It was fun for both the kids and adults.

After the egg hunt, the kids were excited to open their eggs and find the goodies inside.  They didn’t hesitate opening up their treats and start munching on them.  It was all good though – because it was Easter after all.

After the Egg Hunt, it was time to get serious about cooking Easter dinner.  Frank smoked a ham in the bbq (and it was amazing).  Then I made homemade mashed potatoes, green beans with Golden Mushroom Soup and homemade macaroni and cheese.  The potatoes and green beans were awesome, but I’ll have to work on the macaroni and cheese.  Ha ha!  I’ll get it eventually!

How was your Easter?  Did you do anything fun with your family?
