This summer, the kids and I started a garden.  We're so excited to see our veggie garden grow!  We planted squash, zucchini, carrots, tomatoes, snap peas, and green beans and Miracle-Gro is here to help.  Announcing The Gro Project – showcasing fun garden projects that aren't complicated or hard to do.  Miracle Gro wants to simplify gardening for a whole new class of gardeners and show that it's easy and fun to do.

The Gro Project is a growing movement and Miracle-Gro wants us to showcase our creations while helping to educate fellow gardeners.  As I was looking through the projects, I saw the Toyarium Project and thought that would be a fun one to do with the kids.  The steps are easy and the list isn't very long for what you need to get started.

Here is what you need:

– Fishbowl or other glass container

– Your favorite succulents and cactus

– Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix

– Plastic toys or figurines from your kid's room

– Rocks

– Spoon

Step 1:  Cover the bottom of the fishbowl or container with a layer of rocks.

Step 2:  Fill it about 1/3 full with potting mix.

Step 3:  Use the spoon to plant succulents in the potting mix, adding more mix to create your landscape.

Step 4:  Set the scene with your toys.  Careful not to overwater.  Use a spritzer to moisten only when it gets very dry in there.

Step 5:  Add a little imagination and watch it come to life.

Be sure to share your Garden projects and check out those of other gardeners by following Miracle-Gro on their Pinterest Page.

We had a lot of fun with our garden this year and we used miracle gro as well. My kids love to help me pick fresh vegetables from the garden to eat each day. I love the late summer when everything is ready! My favorite is making homemade salsa from the ingredients in our garden. We could eat that every day, lol. The cactus idea sounds neat. We will have to do that this winter when we are looking for more things to grow and take care of!
