Do you have an old cell phone in your purse or laying around the house?  It could be worth money!  Did you know that you can trade in your old cell phone and get up to $200 back at Best Buy Mobile Specialty Stores?  I recently learned that you can head to your local Best Buy and trade in your cell phone for a Best Buy Gift Card – any day of the week.  I had no idea they did this EVERYDAY!

We recently changed providers and had an iPhone 4 that didn’t work with our new carrier.  It’s been sitting in the box in our closet for quite some time and it was time to trade it in for a Best Buy gift card!  Trading the cell phone in at Best Buy is so simple and can be done in 3 simple steps.

1 – Bring your phone to a participating Best Buy Mobile specialty store.

2 – Based on your phone’s current value, get a Best Buy gift card instantly.

3 – Use it toward the new phone you’ve been eyeing.

We took our boxed up iPhone 4 into our local Best Buy and went to Customer Service and asked where they did the phone trade-ins.  The Customer Service Rep said he could help us and had us sit down on some seats and the kids sat on a bench.  He looked at the phone, looked up the information and trade-in value for the phone and then quoted us the amount for the Best Buy gift card.  I couldn’t believe how easy and quick it was!  If we wanted, we could even use the store credit and upgrade to a newer phone with our carrier.  How cool is that?

What?! I never knew this, what a good idea! We have so many old phones laying around that my girls use as pretend phones, lol. They probably aren’t worth much now, but if we had known about this earlier we could have traded them in right away. Good to know for next time, thanks!
