Energizer Headlights 2

I am a fan of Energizer and grew up with the Energizer brand in my home.  When I look to batteries, I first grab for the Energizer brand.  That’s why it made it so easy to say yes when I had the opportunity to head to Walmart and  purchase and try the Energizer Headlights in our home.  I originally planned on featuring them for everyday tasks such as changing the oil on the car, getting items out of the attic, searching under the couch, or using on a night walk on a camping trip.  But then it happened.

Last night, while we were getting ready to watch Oz The Great & Powerful on DVD, our power went out.  Then it came back on but half powered.  It was on for about 10 minutes and went out again.  Apparently, the power was out from Santa Barbara all the way up the Central Coast to Atascadero.  We had six kids in the house and the youngest was really scared.  It was just then that I realized we don’t have any 72 hour kits or flashlights or candles…..but I did have headlights and a post due the next day on how to use them in our everyday lives.  Who knew this would be the perfect opportunity to use them!

When I headed to Walmart to purchase the Energizer headlights, I had no idea there would be so many different models available!  I decided to purchase two – the Trailfinder LED Headlight and the Trailfinder Pro3 Headlight.  The Trailfinder LED Headlight retails for $4.88 and the Trailfinder Pro3 Headlight retails for $12.77.  Two different headlights for less than $20.00.  These are great for any emergency or 72 hour kit!  Check out my Google+ Story for more on my shopping experience at Walmart.

The kids loved wearing the headlights and it helped us big time with the power out.  After all, you could only get so much light from the iPads and iPhones.  Frank’s daughter, Corrine, even used the headlight to read a story to my youngest son, Sam.  It was easy to use and worked great!  The Energizer Trailfinder LED Headlight includes an easy on/off button, a bright white LED, and an elastic head strap.  We didn’t even need to put batteries in, but just had to pull the tag and the light came on.

I liked the Energizer Trailfinder Pro3 Headlight because it had two modes on it and worked great.  It came with AAA batteries, which we had to put in the headlight, but then once they were in, it worked great!  This headlight has a pivoting headlight, adjustable head strap, unbreakable LEDs, and 3 position switch.  The two modes included Night Vision and Spot Projection.  This is perfect for everyday activities, as well as hiking or camping trips.  Thank you Energizer for helping us get through the power outage with happy kids!

These look really handy. I might have to get a few for my house in case we lose electricity and need to see. It would also be fun to take them camping.

  2. Amber K says:

These look so useful! I can think of hundreds of uses for these, thanks for sharing!

  3. We definitely need more of these! After being without power for a while during a storm, you start to realize how very low on lights you really are!

  4. Marysa says:

These are great! Remember the days before LEDs? 🙂

Headlamps are so versatile, really great to have on hand for everyone. From power outages to camping.

  5. Those would make a power outage much less scary for kids, I need to stock up on some! We are in storm season here so adding this to my weekly list!

  6. Anne Younger says:

Sometimes I think I am overprepared for an emergency but I would rather have too much than not enough!

  7. It is always good to be prepared for anything. Anytime our electricity is out, we always play Mancala, it would be WAY easier to play it by forehead light than by candlelight.

  8. Greta says:

I’ve always lived dangerously, and never bothered with an emergency kit. Maybe I should change that!

  9. Such a great idea to have those available in an emergency kit! Certainly safer than candles!

  10. Helen says:

Those look awesome, my husband loves his, now I need one.

  11. Lori Pace says:

How scary that the lights went out!! I am so getting this for the same reason!!
