Father With Children As They Eat Breakfast And Mother In The Bac

How many times do you remember as a child hearing your parents say, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day?”  Can you believe that today, nearly one in five children across our communities go without breakfast every day?    I know that when I was going to school (whether it was elementary school, high school, or college), I didn’t do as well in my classes unless I had eaten a nutritious breakfast.  The same goes for our kids.  With a wholesome breakfast, our kids can reach their full potential every day.

This year, Kellogg’s along with their celebrity spokesperson, Taye Diggs, are leading the charge to help end childhood hunger and are rallying families across the U.S. to help provide breakfast for kids in need.  As a dad, Kellogg’s Share Breakfast Campaign is a cause Diggs feels passionately about.  His mom was a teacher and he was raised on the belief that eating a wholesome breakfast helps give kids their potential to have a great day.  As a child, Taye grew up as the eldest of five children in Rochester, New York and after the sudden death of his father, Taye stepped up to help his mother care for his four younger siblings.  Through his family leadership, he can relate to the financial worries that many families in America face in putting food on the table every day.  In the program’s third year, Kellogg’s Share Breakfast will share one million breakfasts with kids in need through grants to schools or school districts to help them increase their participation in school breakfast programs.

“Just imagine what kids across the country could accomplish if they had a great start every day.  That’s why I am partnering with Kellogg’s and the Share Breakfast Program to help make this a reality,” said Diggs.  “Join me in raising one millions breakfasts to help get America’s kids the start they deserve.

For the 3rd annual Share Breakfast movement, Kellogg’s and philanthropic partner Action for Healthy Kids® wants to make it easy for families everywhere to join in the effort to share one million breakfasts to children that may otherwise go without.  By completing simple tasks such as sharing videos, tweeting, “liking” or “pinning” you and I can help Kellogg’s raise up to $250,000 in grants to go towards school breakfast programs.
