Together Counts Helps You to Find Balance This Fall
Have you ever heard of Together Counts? Together Counts is a nationwide program inspiring active and healthy living. The principle behind the program is Energy Balance, which means balancing the calories we consume with the calories we burn. Together Counts is a first-of-its kind coalition that brings together more than 195 retailers, food and beverage manufacturers, restaurants, sporting goods and insurance companies, trade associations and non-governmental organizations (NGO’s), and professional sports organizations.
Most recently, we had a birthday party for Frank’s son. We had a barbecue get-together with food, drinks, and outdoor fun. I had so much fun hanging out with family and friends in the beautiful outdoors. We had so much fun throwing footballs to the kids in the backyard….and I really think they had a blast too! It is definitely something that I would love to do again!
The Fall brings about cold weather, but that doesn’t mean the outdoor fun has to end. This Fall, I would really like to go on some nature hikes with the boys. It could be as simple as walking on the beach, going for a bike ride, or playing football or basketball. It could be playing with the kids at the park or collecting leaves and making leaf rubbings at home.
The Fall not only brings about family fun, but it is the most awesome time of year for soups, stews, and casseroles. I love cooking soups in my crockpot during this time of year. The aroma fills the house and dinner is a time when everyone looks forward to digging into the yummy meals that’s been cooking all day. Any dish warm gets a thumbs-up from the family!
So, how do you balance food and exercise in your home? For ideas on how to do this, or to share your own ideas, join the Together Counts Twitter Party on 10/17 from 8-9 PM (EST) with the hashtag #TogetherCounts.
