“Did You Hear About the Morgans?” Movie Review
We had a fun time in California! George and I even got to go on a date! My parents watched the boys and George’s parents gave us the movie tickets. Woo hoo! I wanted to see “Did You Hear About the Morgans,” but George wanted to see “Sherlock Holmes.” Since “Sherlock Holmes” was just released on Christmas Day, it was not a huge surprise to find that it was all sold out. We purchased tickets for “Did You Hear About the Morgans?”
The movie was a little slow at first, but once the Morgans witnessed the murder, it began to get interesting. From there, we both agreed that we were glad to go and see the movie. I love Hugh Grant and can say that he did an awesome job. I’m not a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker, but really enjoyed her character in the movie. She was cute and funny! Plus, who wouldn’t love Sam Elliot and Mary Steenburgen? They were so adorable working together in the movie!
“Did You Hear About the Morgans” is about a couple on the brink of divorce. Paul Morgan (Grant) and Meryl Morgan (Parker) live in New York and are “separated.” After going out to eat one night – prompted by Paul to help heal their relationship – they go for a walk to meet Meryl’s next client. Unfortunately, he wasn’t alive to further his home purchase with her – you see, she was one of New York’s top real estate agents! They happened to see the murderer and he happened to see them. Once they went to the police, they were told that they should go into protective custody until they testified. They were sent to Wyoming, which is VERY different than Manhattan, New York and had to live with their new identities. They were set up to stay with Sheriff Clay Wheeler (Elliott) and his wife Emma (Steenburgen), where they learned more about one another, as well as why they fell in love in the first place.
The movie is rated PG-13 and has many funny moments. I would give the movie 4 out of 5 stars and would be happy to see it again. I think we may even own it when it comes out on DVD!!!

Thanks for the review! I’m going add this to my Netflix queue for when it comes out on DVD. My hubby and I saw Sherlock Holmes and I wasn’t that impressed (I think my expectations were just too high) – sounds like you ended up at the right movie!
