“Lions: Animal Planet” DVD Review & Giveaway

I love watching shows produced by Animal Planet. I had the opportunity to review a DVD called “Lions: Animal Planet.” It was fascinating to watch! Lions: The Lion’s Share/White Lions/A Lion Called Christian/Rogue Lions was released on September 29, 2009 and retails for $14.95.
There are 3 segments on the “Lions: Animal Planet” DVD. The first is called “Lion’s Share,” where we learn about a lion called Christian. We can experience this lion’s existence in the Serengeti in this segment. The second is called “White Lions,” where we learn about the magical golden king of the jungle. The third is called “Rogue Lions,” where we see how lions go “rogue” in Kruger National Park.
Witness the internet sensation Christian the Lion and his touching reunion with his former caretakers; journey into the heart of the Seregenti as drought threatens the survival of a close-knit pride; explore the regal realm of the majestic white lion; and venture into Kruger National Park where lions are changing their hunting behaviors and are slowly becoming more of a threat to humans. First shown on Animal Planet, Lions provides a striking look at these stunning animals and their behaviors.

We spend quite a while looking at the lions at the zoo because one is usually roaring real loud. Also because I love their beautiful mane of hair.

We’ve seen them at Kruger (in South Africa) quite frequently – it’s amazing how one-track-minded they are when on the hunt. You can drive right alongside them and they pay no attention except to the prey…

Lions are such beautiful creatures, majestic and commanding respect. From a distance, they may look like big cats, but these cats are deadly and powerful. This looks like a fascinating DVD. Thank you for the chance to win.
Well, what awes my boys is their roar. They roar at each other all day long.
The strength of a lion leaves me in awe.

The female makes kills for the food.
Their beautiful manes!
I think it’s interesting how the female is the one who hunts and then brings back the dinner for the male and the cubs, just like humans LOL!

What awes me about lions is their beauty and power.
their manes
One of the things that awes me about lions is despite their incredible size they still manage to frolic like kittens when they are happy. I also love to see how the group watches out for their young cubs…if it was only that way with humans instead of every man for himself when disaster strikes.

I’m fascinated by their strength. I’ve seen them play with their handlers and it amazes me that a cat so deadly can be so playful.
