Tell Me About Skype

OK – so I have heard a lot about Skype from different people.   I have yet to explore it myself.

My question to you – do you use Skype?  What is it and why do you like it?

I skype!!! It’s a chat program, you can chat individually with people, or you can be invited in a whole group, or do both at the same time…I have like a million different chats open at once…it’s fun!!! if you do download it, let me know I’ll add you as a friend!

We use skype with family in other states. We use a webcam and can video chat using the computer. The grandparents love it!

I have used Skype, but don’t currently. When I was in Mali, West Africa last year, My wife and I used it to talk (voice and video) from computer to computer. It’s a great way to communicate with family and friends when a phone call would be way to expensive (like over-seas).

I skype sometimes. Usually when I video or phone conference I just use MSN because I’m more familiar with it but with Skype I know you can have multiple people in on the same phone conversation. (I’m not sure about video though). And it’s FREE. So it’s way better to use this when talking long distance then a phone that charges minutes or money.

Skype is how my daughter and her boyfriend (who lives in Austria) are able to talk for free- the quality is excellent and of course free is a fabulous price.
She also uses it with her gamer friends who are all over the world.

I think Skype is a wonderful tool to use if you have people in far away states and or countries you like to keep in touch with-We use it to communicate with my sister when she is away at college and we also use it to talk to our cousins who live in Poland =]

    Yes~
    We skype!
That is how we get to talk to my husband.
( He is currently in Afghanistan with the ARMY)
Thanks to skype, he has been allowed the chance to see our little 8 month old baby boy “grow up.”
Although he isn’t here in person, it helps to be able to see him and hear his voice!
